Rules

Season 8: Cup final will now be on the last day of the season. Nominations for penalties will be provided in advance of the game. Should it be a tie after penalties, the cup will be decided on coin toss.

Season 8: Teams for all cup games (not just the OBT cup) must be announced/confirmed 1hr prior to kick off.

Season 3: The OBT cup en expanded this year. To accommodate the extra two teams, we are excited to announce the introduction of a qualifying phase. This year 4 teams will be chosen at random and they will compete in a qualifying round. This summer we will debate the way these 4 teams are chosen in the future. (Eg picked at random, top 4 in the league, top 4 draft pickers, losers of the all star game etc.) However this year, the qualifying teams will be picked at random. At the end of the qualifying game, If the teams are level on points, we will have a penalty shootout the following week. If the tie remains level after a pen shootout, a coin toss will decide the winner.

The qualifying round will be on gameweek 28.
The first round will be on gameweek 30.
The semi finals will take place on gameweek 33.
And the final will take place gameweek 36.

As in previous years, once you enter the competition proper, the following rules will apply.

You must beat the opposition by atleast 10 points. Otherwise the game goes to a replay.

Teams that are picked to play at home will get a 5 point head start. This also includes the replay.

Teams lower in the league at the time of the game will get to name a captain. The captain scores double points. Captains are not to be named in the replay, so make them count.

If the game is still level after penalties, it moves to a coin toss. This does not include the final. The final can be moved to a double penalty shootout, sudden death the following week. (Last week of the season). The commish would like to suggest a dirty half pint if you lose on a double penalty sudden death shootout. As I'm sure you'll remember with regards to penalties you need to do the following: Name your chosen scorers from 1-11. The first 5 will count in a normal pen shootout. If the scorers are level after the first 5 chosen scorers, we move to sudden death. Then the team with the highest named scorer will win.

Do not forget, it is a £5 fine, if you lose to a team below you in the league at the time of the game.
